Disintegrator Weekly Battle Challenge | Splinterlands #159
This week’s battle challenge focuses on the Disintegrator.
Card Details
A Chaos Legion common level monster from the Neutral Splinter at level 1:
Estimated cost: $0.098
Melee attack: 2
Speed: 1
Armor: 2
Health: 5
Demoralize ability: Reduces the Melee attack of all enemy Monsters.
The weekly battles continue to focus on the new Chaos Legion cards, and this week it focuses on the high-mana cap card, the Disintegrator. The Disintegrator has a couple of positive factors and may be helpful at level 1 for the new players to splinterlands: Neutral Splinter monster (i.e., can be used in various battles), armor, decent health, and ability to reduce melee damage from enemies. The negatives are that it doesn't hit hard enough, has a high mana cost, and is slow. As I don't have the Disintegrator at a high enough level to feature it, I looked for a monster with similar abilities and stats and landed upon the Molten Ogre.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
Well, the battle went better than expected. I was up against a decent opponent who mostly went all-in with magic damage monsters and a magic summoner. The Molten Ogre Demoralize ability was helpful as it prevented the opposition's primary tanks, Grund and Unicorn Mustang, to not hitting as hard they usually do. Also, with the higher health, it could absorb with a couple of hits. Overall a decent victory!
Do you like the Disintegrator / Molten Ogre? Why or why not?
If you were ever looking for a cheaper Molten Ogre, you could not go wrong with the Disintegrator as long as you manage your expectations. It's not going to hit as hard as Molten Ogre and doesn't have as much health, but it's a decent plan-b option: cheaper, Neutral Splinter monster, and armor. I prefer monsters in position 1 to have the Shield ability and have more health and armor. Still, there may be specific rulesets or battles that the Disintegrator may prove helpful.
